Celebrating Union’s 275th Anniversary
UNION — Rep. Penny Bacchiochi was here recently to help celebrate the 275th anniversary of the town’s incorporation. Town Historian Jeannine Upson played emcee for the event, which also attracted First Selectman Andy Goodhall and state Sen. Tony Guglielmo. Bacchiochi and Guglielmo provided special citations from the General Assembly and Gov. M. Jodi Rell. Other town officials were also at the event held at the Congregational Church of Union. On this perfect autumn day, everyone at the celebration sang Union’s song, “My Own Dear Native Town.” From there, the modest crowd enjoyed cake and refreshments.
