Saluting Veterans
On March 16 at Somers Elementary School, I’ll have the honor of awarding commendations to veterans from Somers, Union and Stafford. I’ve organized a ceremony where veterans who served in America’s armed conflicts will receive the Connecticut Veterans Wartime Service Medal. More than 1,300 veterans throughout the district have been invited. It’s a small gesture, but I’m proud to make it. Anything we can do to honor the men and women who risked their lives in defense of our nation is a worthwhile effort.
